Since its launch 10 years ago, Bug Club, our blended whole-school reading programme, has been capturing the imagination of almost 2 million children across the globe, helping them to develop a love of reading and with it, nurturing lifelong readers.
We’d love you to join us over the coming months as we celebrate Bug Club turning 10 with lots of activities for you to join in with!
Add some Bug Club #ReadingResolutions
Whilst 2021 may not have started out exactly how we had planned, it’s never too late for you and your pupils to add some #ReadingResolutions for the year ahead, which is why, as part of our Bug Club 10 celebrations, we are helping you to set and achieve a range of reading targets for this year.
Could you challenge your pupils to read one book for pleasure a month; gain confidence reading aloud to a family member once a week or even read a story via the internet or telephone to a loved one or neighbour that they can’t see during lockdown? Why not ask them to identify their own #ReadingResolutions and set them some additional targets of your own? And remember, you can always take part yourself!
We’ve created a special downloadable bookmark to identify and keep track of these 2021 #ReadingResolutions. Why not share them with us on Facebook @PearsonInternationalSchools? We can’t wait to share the celebrations as each #ReadingResolution is ticked off throughout the year!
We’re kicking off our celebrations in December 2020 with #ReadingAtHome month. With many schools taking a holiday this month, now’s the perfect time to encourage children to continue their reading at home. Download tips and tricks from our reading at home experts to share with your students and parents to get them inspired.
